Having explained in a previous article why true freedom is slavery, we turn now to the second of the late English philosopher George Orwell’s core beliefs: Ignorance is strength. What does this strange phrase truly mean, given (again) how self-contradictory it sounds?
Take a moment to wonder at the lovely kittens in the captioned photo above. Aren’t they soooo pretty? Wouldn’t you like to stroke one and feel its fur? Whilst almost kitsch in its staged sentimentality, the picture of kittens in a beautiful garden setting inspires simple feelings of love, joy and well-being. This is true strength which, if only they could, greedy capitalists would put in cans and sell to consumers for thousands of dollars.
It seems, however, that the terrible human condition does not allow one simply to gaze adoringly at the kittens; instead, we want to know more about these creatures: what are their names, how old are they, where do they live? It is precisely at this point that things start to go wrong.
The terrible truth is that Trotsky, the kitten on the left, is suffering from Feline infectious peritonitis. What is that, you ask in your innocence? Well, feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) is a fatal, incurable disease that affects cats. FIB is a mutation of Feline Enteric Coronavirus (FECV) and Feline coronavirus FCoV. This explains why, in the photo, Trotsky is unable to support her head. Tragically, shortly after this picture was taken, Trotsky keeled over and died at the tender age of 3 months.
If you are like me, you no longer are feeling so strong. Instead, you are sad, perhaps fearful that your own cat companions might get this terrible wasting disease.
This simple demonstration shows why it is best for all of us to remain ignorant in all things so as to remain strong. A few simple rules apply:
- Always trust your government to do the right thing. You voted for them, so let them get on with making this country gre.. er fantastic again. We’re engaged in war with Russia and always have been. This is not the time to be questioning YOUR elected government
- Read only news from accredited sources. There is much disinformation out there in alternative sources, mostly planted by the Russians just as the CIA has confirmed
- Mandatory vaccination is a good thing. If Trotsky the kitten had been properly vaccinated, she would still be frolliking around like the beautiful cat of color below
