As Trump threatens to shut down sanctuary cities, thousands of Americans are taking to the streets to protest against this blatant abuse of human rights. Since Trump’s election, undocumented Americans have been systematically oppressed and targeted by the authorities, many of them losing their driver’s licenses and some even facing deportation. Many of those facing deportation have already been working in America for months and even years, and many have families in America. None of this matters to Trump’s far right administration however, which continues to implement fascist policies targeting innocent undocumented Americans.
The protesters are pleading with Trump and appealing to his humanity, if he has any. Many of the protesters carry signs demanding that driver’s licenses are again given to undocumented immigrants, which in many cases is the only way they can vote. Others remind Americans that this is a nation of immigrants, despite what racists like Anne Coulter say about it being a nation of “settlers” who built the country from scratch rather than immigrating to an existing country.
America was opposed to immigration from Ireland, Germany and Italy a long time ago, and that immigration turned out just fine. What is the difference between Mexicans and the Irish? There’s no difference, and anyone who claims otherwise is an ADMITTED RACIST. I DARE anyone to say that there is a difference! I DARE you!
Sanctuary cities are here to stay, and racist Americans need to get used to it and start living in the 21ST CENTURY. Viva La Raza, restore Aztlan and end white supremacy!
