Guinea’s presidential candidate for 2020, Abu Berete, is a long time reader of the Accredited Times and recently linked our article on how refugees boost the economy. After seeing him link to our site, we reached out to Abu, and asked him a couple of questions about his run for the presidency of Guinea. Below is the full transcript of our interactions:

MillionDollarBonus

Hi Abu,
I’m writing to you from the Accredited Times, a popular online news site. You linked to our article on how refugees boost the economy a while ago, and we were wondering if you’d be open to answering a couple of questions about your presidential run over email? We’d like to do a feature article on your candidacy. Let me know if you’re interested.

Abu

Good morning Mr.

Thank you for your email, yes I am still running for president in 2020 by the great of God. In fact, I have just got my party and the documents that every candidates must have before you run for president, I just got that by joining the most popular party in the country, even the current president had to join them in order for him to won the 2015 election, but after the president took the office for his second term, he betrayed them and they Withrow from the president. But now, they have agreed to make me the president candidate nominated for the party with all the members and supporters are mind now. Therefore, the youth of the country have decided to install me as a president of Guinea conakry in 2020. Even I have the chef senior advisor who trained the president security, he is now on my side. Now I am glad you emailed me. Thank you. But the problem I have right now is financial problems, the president has increased the fee every candidates must pay to register, because he doesn’t want anyone to bother him right because he knows that people don’t like him any more. The president even stop giving the documents out that was why it took up to three months before I joined the party and became their president. I even withdraw my application because they wanted to eat my money  $20 thousands dollars to braiding the minister who signe the documents. Even though the president has to told them not to gave it out. Fortunately, I didn’t have the money any way. Therefore, Mr. Please, my name has spread all over Guinea conakry. But I don’t have any money to run my campaign. All I need is  $10 million dollars, and that will do everything for me. We can even negotiate.

MillionDollarBonus

Hi Abu,

Great to hear back from you. I’m sorry to hear that the current president of Guinea is making it so difficult to challenge him in the 2020 race, but it sounds like you have the people on your side and that’s all that matters come election time, as long as you can stay in the race and get the message out. Unfortunately we have a policy against making political donations at the Accredited Times, but what I suggest is that you contact the Open Society Foundation if you haven’t already. You can contact them here:

https://www.opensocietyfoundations.org/contact-us

The foundation is run by well-known philanthropist George Soros, who has funded many of my political acquaintances and I’m sure would be delighted to finance your campaign.

What we can offer you at the AT is public exposure by writing a feature article on your candidacy. We have quite a good reach and many of our readers would probably be delighted to donate to your campaign. If you’re happy to answer the following questions, we’d be happy to write up an article on your candidacy:

  1. What made you decide to run for the presidency?
  2. What do you plan to do as president to help your electorate?
  3. Given the incredible natural resources that Guinea has, why do you think the country still suffers from poverty?

Look forward to hearing back from you.

Abu

Thank you for your response. Therefore, please I will like for you to do all you can to help me through this campaign. And I will be more than happy to work with you at any time you want me to. Please feel free to write a lot of article on my candidacy and make my name spread throughout the world. I want all my Guinea citizens living in the united state, Europe, Asia, all over the world to hear about it so that they can follow me back to my country without me telling them, because they have hear a lot of promises and they have failed. that is why everybody wants to come to the United State for freedom, jobs, opportunity and education and security and many more. Therefore, I want them to see me as a president who will make them come back home so that we can also develop how own country for our new generation to come.

Guinea has wisted so many years since the independent from French. And with all the rich natural resources we have, the country is still the  one of the poorest country in the world. I will be glad to work with the United State because they have help me become who I am today.

I had the open door when I first came in US.

America have also help many more people throughout the country and even the entire world. That is some of the reason everybody want to come to the United State. So far Mr. president Donald Trump is doing very well, it is good for president if you promised the people anything during the campaign, you should try to do at least 98% and even if you do all of it , that means you are a good president and that is what Mr. president is trying to do, even myself if I promise anything during my campaign, and don’t do them, that is very bad as a president.

And as for the refugee, God made this world for man to live as one people one peace. We should try to encourage people with good intention so that he too can help his own people and they won’t be depending on other country for help all the time and even try to come by all means. I will encourage the United State to keep doing what they were doing. Refugee can really help in many ways, tax, production, education, and even security because every country have their people living in the United States and that will make America very powerful.

There is alway a good and bad in everything some are good and some are bad and if Mr. president get the bad one out, I think we should respect that as well.

Answer to the question, please try and rise me as much money as you can so that I can start my campaign, 2020 is near and I have not even start my campaign yet. Even I get $3 millions right now that will be good. I will manage that.

1. What made you decide to run for the presidency?

I want to run for president because the people in Guinea have never said today we are doing good, we have plenty of jobs, money, healthcare, education, and all the good thing we need to survive. If I think about the natural resource in the country and everything is bad, that makes me sad. Everybody is asking for money all the time and I can not settle everyone because I have my own bills to paid. I want to do all I said in the content of my website when I become a president.

  1. What do you plan to do as president to help your electorate?

I will provide them a good healthcare, education, jobs, electricity, technology, infrastructure, security, and all the benefits they deserve. I will stop corruption.

  1. Given the incredible natural resources that Guinea has, why do you think the country still suffers from poverty?

1) The number problem in Guinea is lack of education, Guinea have just lost five students this year because the teacher has refused to go school to teach the student because they are not well pay by the government, and when the student demand for explanation,  the police shot at them on the street and nothing come out of it.

2) Guinea does not have a electricity and technology and running water. Without those thing, the country will not get out of poverty. Guinea government does not produce job, they send the natural resource out of the country and share the money among themselves. Corruption have killed the country since the independent.

3) poor education system.

In Guinea, student who parent don’t have money will not pass the curses. Teacher even have a relationship with female student so that they can pass the curse. As i have been here in the United States for very long time, I will use some of my experience from hear to bring our country together. Even the whole world will benefit from our development.

Thanks so much for your answers Bility. Just to clarify, is your preferred name Bility or Abu?

I’ll send you a link to the article as soon as it’s posted. As I say, I strongly urge you to reach out to the Open Society Foundation, as I believe they’ll be more than happy to help out with funds.

All the best.

Abu

Thank You

Abou

Abu’s uncanny grasp of the English language, disarming charisma and strong vision for Guinea should be enough to earn any upstanding Guinean’s vote. I urge all of our readers to head over to his blog and consider donating to his presidential run.

Thank you MDB for bringing to light the struggles of our accredited brothers in West Africa!! Even though I’m a White Southern Redneck, I identify as a Black West African, so much so, that I have traveled to West Africa several times to be with my own kind. The pretty West African girls really like me there, they tell me that if we had babies that they would definitely be presidential material, being half white/black and all. I can’t say enough about the moral integrity and the intellectial powerhouse that Black West Africa represents. Even though they are extremely rich in natural resourses, they choose to just leave it be and do without because they know what developement brings…

Sincerely, BFM

Dear Mr. Berete, Very happy to hear of your candidacy for President. I wish you luck to help your fellow Guineans prosper. I believe I have an excellent way to kickstart your campaign.

I have been president of the trust department of a large Nigerian bank. I have an ex client who needs help to distribute funds of approx. 5 millions US dollars.

Due to internal corruption (something you well know of) the funds have been locked by the interior minister. This was an inheritance from my client’s grandfather who made millions in the tapping of oil and gas distribution lines and then selling the oil and gas on the black market.
The funds can be released with a small payment of 50,000 US as a “gift” to the wife of the interior ministry.

When you forward us this amount we will then put you as the beneficiary of the funds and promptly send you the full amount to your Guinean bank account. Of course the funds would then need to be split in a fair manner. We propose to allow you to keep 25% of the 5 million or $1,250.000. You would then wire transfer the remainder to accounts we provide you.
Please keep this offer secret as you can understand the sensitivity of this issue.

Send me your full bank details to my personal email account: goergyboyS@progressivefunding.com

Looking forward to hearing from you promptly.
George.

Thanks for that, but as for now I have spent a lot of money on getting the documents to run for president, and fortunately I have it now.
For 50 thousands gift, I have that right now, and that is why I am trying to rise money for my campaign.

It is so wonderful that the Accredited Times is campaigning for Abou Berete. I feel so privileged to be associated with such an amazing media organization, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for all that you do for us MDB.

I’ve just been talking with Dad and he feels that Abou is not only the best choice for Guinea but also a shining beacon of progressive hope for all of Africa.

Dad is going to the bank tomorrow to take a second mortgage so that I can fly out to Guinea and electioneer for Abou. We both feel that a young white woman canvassing door to door in Conakry could attract positive media attention for Berete’s presidential bid.

Dad even said it will be ok for my little sister Emma to take time off from school to come with me – she’s only fifteen but already knows that on the ground progressive activism and pressing flesh for Abou Berete’s campaign is a powerful way to fight fascism. If we split up once we get to Conakry we’ll be able to meet twice as many constituents and do whatever it takes to get them to vote Front Democratique.

I am so excited about getting to meet lots of new people and hopefully I’ll be able to make a real impression on them.

AccreditedThinker

If your goal is to meet lots of people and get to know what their culture is really like, I think your plan to separate and travel across Guinea on your own is the way to go. Given the terrible history of White Oppression in Africa, it’s obvious the people you’ll meet will feel less threatened, and much more inclined to behave as they normally would when meeting unarmed young women traveling on their own in the middle of nowhere.

I think you can expect much excitement and adventure during your sojourn; African friendliness is legendary, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised to discover that many complete strangers insisted you stay overnight in their own bed! I’ve heard their hospitality is so ingrained they may use guns and machetes to communicate the sincerity of their requests. This might seem a little unusual to us Europeans, but in Africa it’s perfectly normal.

Hello and thank you for your inputs. I will like to let you know that Guinea is one of the richest countries in the world everyone is aware of that.
But as for any supporters coming to Guinea with me for my campaign, will be 100% well treated expecially white or different cultures and religious Guinea is well known for wellcome everyone from everywhere, Guinea also have a lot of different tribs and culture which make a lot of people love Guinea.

In the history since the independence Guinea have only helped neighborhood country refugees which reduced Guinea economy to 0%. Guinea have never go to war with any African nation, there are many white people living in Guinea right now because they know the value of Guinea, Guinea is rich in gold, diamond, silver, and every other natural resources most of them are in to gold and silver jewelry exporting from Guinea every single day. Guinea also have so many beautiful places in the capital city Conakry the largest city in Guinea,
You will be 100% protected security will be everywhere and we live in the most beautiful and and expensive part of the Conakry you not even want to come back to your country, please Google Guinea Conakry and to do you research and see some rich places where all the richest and business white people live. Guinea is very beautiful that is why I want to rebuild the country for tourism and business ground like Dubai for everybody.
Thanks for your support, we need more comment and feed back and donations for our campaign.

Thanks Abu, I get a good feeling from you so I would feel perfectly safe with you showing me and Emma around Conakry and the rest Guinea.

When will you be heading back? Some of the other commentors here at the AT seem to have a lot more money than I do so they should contribute to our campaign financially (I hope they don’t let us down) and I can give my time. I will have enough money for my living expenses in Guinea but aren’t sure how much I’ll have left over to make election donations – especially if I’m in Guinea for a long time before you’re elected. MDB gives me some freelance work so hopefully we can do some articles about life in Conakry and when you’re elected you might be able to give me a job.

I will start practicing my French straight away. I am so happy to be entering a new phase of my life. I’ve been a bit depressed because my ex-boyfriend Aashiq left and went to Germany but now I’m too excited about the presidential campaign to be sad.

You have a lovely smile in your picture, I can’t wait to meet you and start campaigning 🙂

Hi Abu,

When you become President will you legalize gay sex in Guinea and appoint homosexuals to high positions in your government? We feel that if you can make some election promises regarding the promotion of homosexuality in Guinean society it will be a lot easier to raise election funds from our friends in Hollywood.

Give it some thought, but maybe something along the lines of a promise to teach gay equality in state schools from year one. This would go a long way to bring many Western celebrities into the cause.

Great news Abu. Looks like your at least 2 campaign checks for $5 million each (and I’m sure more on the way) which should be arriving soon, as well as Little Lucy and others who will be coming to campaign has really got you off to a good start.

I’m sure the cost per vote there in Guinea is very high though, so I imagine you need more. How much is it per vote anyway? Here in Nigeria we give one pig to the headman in each district then usually a 25 kilo sack of rice to every voter. I’m sure it is expensive there as well. We also fill up cars and moto taxis with the free petrol we siphon regularly to take people to the polls which we try to do twice per person on election day.

Also since I posted earlier my associate Olawale Mwanajuma who is an internet marketing czar here in Nigeria has informed me that we have someone who will be sending the 50,000.00 we need in order to free the millions.

So once we get our hands on the 5,000,000 you can expect another large check. If we only end up with the 50,000 (which unfortunately is usually the case) we will send $1,000.00 in cash to you in Texas.

Best of luck on the campaign and please be sure to keep Lucy and her sister safe.

I can already imagine you wearing the Presidential Sash and holding the ceremonial 6 feet spear.

I had to interrupt important business dealings in the Middle East to reply to this. What fantastic news that a leader like Abu Berete has emerged to lead his people from darkness. He is right to say that Guinea’s natural resources can fund so much of his peoples’ bright futures. After hearing so many empty promises from previous presidential candidates – only to see them become thoroughly corrupt once elected – it does the soul good to see Abu emerge as an exception to this.

Abu, I have access to many millions of funding. Alas, there are restrictions on the terms under which I can access this financing. Sadly, these institutions require a make-weight collateral. I have been studying Guinea carefully in the light of this article and wondered whether a share in the country’s Siguiri or other gold mines could make sense once you are elected leader? We would need cast iron guarantees to cover the risk of expropriation but I trust you to do the right thing for your people.

Together we can end corruption for good!

At the moment, The Republic of Guinea only has 15% of the Siguiri mine, with Anglogold Ashanti having 85%. How can this be just?!

In my proposal, we get 60% and Guinea gets 40? Do we have a deal?

Let’s end this corruption NOW!

Sorry I didn’t get you right, what kind of deal?

Pbier

To get over my restrictions on campaign financing, we need a counterpart investment in Siguiri mine, which would help the Guinea people also.

On election, you pass a 400 page bill called ‘Patriot Act to make fair natural resource share of Guinea people’ which is written ahead of the vote. With an ingeniously named legislation, noone would dare vote against it!

In return for say $50 million, we get 60% of Siguiri mine and Guinea 40% (currently only 15%).

This is critical to act for justice of all Guinea people now. I need to know if there is serious interest as I am about to sign a memorandum of understanding for a LGBTQ+ toilet facility in the Middle East. This project which is the first of a kind in this country would bring around 71 much needed separate units for all genders.

Hello and thank you for explaining to me with all the understanding I got. Therefore since you promised to bring infrastructure, better education, lot of employments , security, peace, development, good health care system, and fight corruption all the way to zero, yes we have a deal send me some funds right now and I will start my campaign and we will go from there.
Thank you

Dear Abou,

Unfortunately, my lawyers have pointed out that transferring a majority stake in Siguiri mine to me would probably not be feasible. Also, because the mine is probably worth many billions and I am offering only $50 million, the lawyers feel that this may appear somehow ‘corrupt’, which is what you want to avoid. Reluctantly, I have to decline further discussions.

Feeling in solidarity with you, I did try to make a small personal contribution at http://www.abuberete.com/ I don’t know if it is a problem with the software, but I can’t access the donation site.

I’m SURE that those above who have enjoyed interracting with you will want to help if they can even if they end up donating much less than they said.

All best wishes et bon courage pour la suite, Pbier

It is the final one after when i was processing to join the new party name that I am the president of. Like I said before, that made it very easy for me to to do my campaign because I have all the majority population that are supporting our party because I am involved with a good intentions for our country.

Got it BFM, for a tiny moment alarm bells rang but your confirmation he also has a Liberia number (& Lagos?) simply means he is a modern international politician who is more than trustworthy.
