The Spanish Inquisition was established in 1478 as a special taskforce within the Roman Catholic Church, charged with rooting out and neutralising heretics. Ruthless, intolerant, and deadly, the Inquisition hunted down infidels who preached ideas contrary to those handed down by the so-called Magisterium since the time of Christ. Apologists for the Inquisition claim that its goals justified the means – namely the salvation of souls.
Today, a new Inquisition is urgently needed for a challenge even greater than saving the immortal soul: the utter devastation caused to this planet by carbon dioxide gas. As politicians, rock stars and the Accredited Media never fail to remind us, time is unfortunately running out for us on Planet Earth to DO SOMETHING. Time has been running out since the 1980s and it continues to run out.
The truth is that Carbon Dioxide is arguably the greatest killer known to mankind, even if we do not always recognise it as such. CO2 raises global temperatures, is responsible for freak weather events like hurricanes in Florida, drought in Africa, and sunshine in the Lake District of Britain. It causes the earth’s ice-caps to melt, and thereby kills whole colonies of polar bears who lose their habitation and natural hunting-grounds. When the last remaining land-mass finally sinks beneath the boiling ocean waters, we will not be able to say we were not warned. We must act while there is still time; we owe it to inspirational leaders like Sting and the Multi-Millionaire Al Gore to listen to their message, as they jet from country to country to spread the word.
Alas, despite 98.3% of all climate scientists who are funded to study this problem agreeing that it is man-made, there remain some stubborn dissenters. They refuse to accept that the debate is OVER. We know that these fools are funded by Big Oil, because the Accredited Media tell us. Whilst we accept that free speech is an important part of democracy, and must be respected without conditions, free speech must nonetheless have its limits and be tightly regulated. Not only are our freedoms at risk but, crucially, our very lives, and also the lives of our children, our grandchildren and future generations to come. The fact that these denialist freaks are able still to speak freely has literally set back the climate agenda many decades.
All of this is precisely why a new Inquisition is needed to locate and neutralise those people like Lord Monkton who have dug their feet in and refuse to accept established facts.
What exactly are these facts? Well, according to the New Scientist ‘more than 100 per cent of the warming over the past century is due to human actions. How can it be more than 100 per cent? Because without us the planet would likely have cooled very slightly thanks to natural factors such as volcanic emissions and orbital changes’
Unfortunately, due to the propaganda from shills such as Monkton, ‘less than half of people in the UK (43 per cent), Germany (49 per cent) and Norway (just 34 per cent) think climate change is mainly or entirely due to human activities, according to a public opinion survey.’
We need to change this generation’s mindset and to quell the dissent. All talk about a medieval warming period, natural sun cycles, the supposed absurdity of Goldman Sachs earning huge profits from carbon trading, flawed models, Climate change being a danger that requires a global solution and a New World Order, temperatures not rising for over 13 years, CO2 being essential to plant life etc. – all these spurious arguments need to be banned. We need an Environmental Inquisition and we need it NOW.
