Mountain View, California (Accredited Times) – Goodbye, James Damore. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
As many of you have heard by now, Google fired James Damore, a Harvard-educated software engineer, for writing a controversial ten-page memo asserting that the “possible” reasons for fewer womyn in tech and leadership positions could include biological differences between men and womyn — and not sexism or microaggressions. Google terminated Damore on Monday, just two days after Damore’s memo became public.
“On average, men and women biologically differ in many ways,” the memo states. According to Damore, these “possible” differences might include womyn “on average” showing “a higher interest in people” and men on average showing a higher interest “in things.” According to Damore, men also face cultural pressures to seek “status,” pushing “many men” into “higher paying, less satisfying jobs for status,” such as “coal mining, garbage collection, and firefighting.”
After terminating Damore, Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote an extensive note to employees stating that Google “strongly support[s] the right of Googlers to express themselves,” but that he nonetheless fired Damore because Damore’s memo was simply “not OK.” “It is contrary to our basic values and our Code of Conduct, which expects ‘each Googler to do their utmost to create a workplace culture that is free of harassment, intimidation, bias and unlawful discrimination,'” Pichai wrote.
Google made the right choice in firing Damore. Frankly, Google should have never hired Damore in the first place. Not only was Damore a male, but, worse, he was a white male, and, even worse, a conservative white male with a ridiculous persecution complex. Conservatives are being “censored” by progressives at major corporations? Ridiculous. What is Google even doing hiring a white male in the Current Year? Unbelievable.
Thankfully, under Pichai’s leadership, Google has made great strides in purging white males from its employee roster. Since Pichai became CEO in 2015, Google has fired or otherwise rejected thousands of evil white males, instead opting for a more diverse work force, especially focused on Indian and other South Asian immigrants. In 2015, Google sought a record 4,048 H1B visas and a record 1,492 green cards for foreign employees. In 2016, Google sought 4,182 H1B visas and 1,386 green cards for foreign employees.
After Damore’s outrageous memo became public, Google’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer Danielle Brown blasted Damore, noting that he had “advanced incorrect assumptions about gender.” In fact, Damore did advance shockingly incorrect assumptions about gender. Although Damore received a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Physics, and Chemistry from the University of Illinois, and was seeking a PhD in Systems Biology from Harvard University, a representative from Harvard University confirmed that Damore did not actually complete his PhD. Instead, Damore only received a master’s degree on the subject. Consequently, Damore simply lacked the accreditation even to speak about gender, let alone raise controversial incorrect notions that depart significantly from the current scientific consensus of gender as a social construct.
Despite his whiteness, Damore has indicated that he will “likely be pursuing legal action.” “I have a legal right to express my concerns about the terms and conditions of my working environment and to bring up potentially illegal behavior, which is what my document does,” Damore said.
Sorry, but you don’t. Take your computer programs, computer games, and 12-sided dice, and get the hell out of California. The good ole white days are OVER.
