He’s far taller, much more progressive and he is a president of plenty of color. These are some of the reasons why President Obama outsmarted Russian premier, Vladimir Putin, by sending 35 diplomats back to Russia.
The reason for Obama’s decision is well-known; as the CIA has confirmed, Putin was personally responsible for swinging the US Presidential election in favour of Trump. In racist/sexist/transphobic Trump, Putin believes he has found a rare ally who will make it easy for Putin to pursue his expansionist policies. After all, there can be no other reason why the most qualified candidate in history, Hillary Clinton, could have lost.
Caught red-handed, Putin has effectively admitted his guilt in not reciprocating by evicting US diplomats. An innocent Putin would have retaliated angrily against America if Obama’s actions had been unjustified. Putin though is as guilty as a cocker spaniel who raided the cookie jar while the family was out of the house. Like the thieving cocker spaniel, Putin needs to be punished firmly.
Putin has almost zero allies in his homeland and has therefore taken the bizarre step of inviting US diplomats and their families in Moscow to an end of year party. The reason for this kindness? He has lost all credibility with the burgeoning LGBTQ community in Russia and therefore will struggle for voters come election time.
In what has been deemed as a significant coup, US intelligence forces have established that some of the 35 diplomats work for the FSB, the spy agency which replaced the KGB. This breakthrough was possible when hawk-eyed CIA agents noticed the letters ‘F’, ‘S’, and ‘B’ in a signage in the interior of certain properties occupied by the Russian diplomats. It is uncertain how long these spies have been residing in the US.
Since the US respects other countries’ autonomy and does not send ‘spies’, Putin is effectively at ‘checkmate’. He is unable to repatriate US diplomats in a tit-for-tat exchange because all US diplomatic personnel have always been installed for legitimate purposes.
