In a recent interview with Meet the Press on NBC, former Clinton campaign Chairman John Podesta made clear what we already know – that Vladimir Putin rigged the presidential election against Hillary Clinton so that, his useful idiot lap dog, Donald Trump could win.
When asked if he believed that the election was fair, Podesta stated: “I think the Russians clearly intervened in the election. And I think now we know that both the C.I.A., the director of National Intelligence, and the F.B.I. all agree that the Russians intervened to help Trump and that, as they have noted this week, NBC first revealed that Vladimir Putin was personally involved with that.”
He went on to say, “it was distorted by the Russian intervention … a foreign adversary directly intervened into our Democratic institution … to tilt the election to Donald Trump.”
With seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies confirming that this is what was happening during the election and a more recent assessment released to the Washington Post by the C.I.A. stating: “It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected” and then divulging, “that’s the consensus view.” It is now a non-debatable fact that Putin rigged the election.
Both FBI Director James B. Comey and Director of National Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. have also now stated – that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win the White House.
With it now being beyond doubt that the only reason Donald Trump won the election was because Putin personally helped him to cheat – it is time for President Obama to declare the result null and void, and to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Trump’s connection to foreign intelligence agencies.
It is clear that the policy of appeasement has failed – it is time to confront Russia head on. We call on NATO for an immediate full scale peace keeping operation.
